BANK’S PROFITS

COMMONWEALTH’S HALF YEAR SYDNEY, Wednesday. The Commonwealth 'Bank made a profit for the half year ended December 31 of £849,537, comprising: Banking business, £254,168; rural credits department, £29,211; note issue department. £446,953; and the Savings Bank, £119.207. Of the total profit £201,291 has been allocated to the reserve fund, £186,686 to the national debt sinking fund, and £335,215 to the Commonwealth Treasury. The balance of £126,347 remains for the development fund of the rural credits department.
