SPLIT IN NEW PARTY
W. M. HUGHES DESERTED BY BRANCHES OFFSHOOT FACTION FORMED United F.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A serious split lias occurred in the newly-formed Australian Party. The City branch carried a proposal that the branch should reconstitute itself as part of a new organisation under a name to be decided at a future date. The chairman of the branch. Mr. Popp, said after being - four months in S the party, he was certain the movement had only two objectives: First to provide for the personal advancement of Mr. W. M. Hughes, and secondly to vent spite on the National Party.
Three suburban ©ranches promised to join the new organisation.
