An Enjoyable “At Home”
St. Cuthbert’s Old Girls' Association MEMBERS’ BRIGHT EVENING A very bright and jolly evening was spent by members of the St. Cuthbert's Old Girls’ Association in their new room in Palmerston Buildings last evening. Novel competitions, yhieli provided plenty of amusement, were interspersed wtih enjoyable items, the contributors being Miss Mary Beattie, songs and pianoforte solos; Miss Kathleen Teape and Miss Merle Cox, elocutionary items; Miss Joyce Jenkins, pianoforte solos; and Miss Flora Robertson, songs, accompanied by Miss Rhoda Robertson. The girls were received by Miss Clouston, principal of St. Cuthbert’s College, and Mrs. Lowrie McGregor, president of the Old Girls’ Association. Miss Clouston was wearing a chenille embossed gown of bronze and deep blue tones. Mrs. Lowrie McGregor had on black spotted net worn over flame coloured faille. Miss Helen Seabrook was wearing a beige and apricot figured crepe de chine frock. Miss Mary Beattie wore delphinium blue georgette. Miss Joan Dodds wore a frock of camellia pink georgette. Miss Ena Potter’s frock was of cedar rose georgette relieved with blue. Miss Valina Roulston was in seafoam green georgtte. Miss Bettie Colwill’s frock was of flowered satin. Miss Joyce Colwill had on a turquoise green georgette evening ensemble. Miss Nancy Wliitelaw's gown was of black chiffon velvet. Effie Hardley had on a cherry red printed crepe de chine frock. * Miss Peggy Hume’s celanese frock was of japonica pink relieved with black Among the old girls present were: Miss Flora Robertson, in rose georgette, with blue coatee; Miss Laura Blakey, ivory crepe de chine, hand-painted in gold; Miss Janet Wallace, black georgette frock, and black chenille bridge coat; Miss Joan Potter, phlox pink georgette; Miss Ruth Owen, pastel green and roseflowered chiffon; Miss Mavis McCullagh, flame velvet and lame bridge coat; Miss Merle Cox, black crepe de soie. Miss Marjorie Meek, in a frock of maize-patterned chiffon; Miss Kathleen Teape, rose and blue flowered crepe de chine; Miss Marjorie Suter, navy- georgette; Miss Noreen Bennett, amethyst figured crepe de chine; Miss Phyllis Gash, pink and blue georgette. with french embroidery; Miss Joyce Neumegan, rust red crepe crepe de cihne frock; Miss Rhoda Robertson, forget-me-not blue crepe de chine; Miss Vivien Bartlett, larkspur blue. mariette; Miss Joyce Car law, navy georgette, relieved with beige; Miss Shirley Watkins, in turquoise crepe de chine; Miss T. Johnson, begonia georgette frock. Miss Thora Jenkins, whose frock was of ivory figured crepe de chine; Miss Ailsa Worral, pink and black satin; Miss Isobel Wells, green and orange crepe de chine; Miss Ida Parkinson, pink flowered ninon; Miss Rennie Wiseman, pompadour pink chiffon and lace; Miss Leila Seabrook. flowered georgette in maize tones; Miss Billie Jessup, sea foam green georgette; Miss Jsa Jessup, orchid shaded georgette; Miss Ethel Potter, in a frock of blue tinsel; Miss Nancy Lane, pastel crepe de chine; Miss Winnie Tippetts, printed georgette; Miss Nancy Thompson, floral georgette; Miss Joyce Miles, green floral georgette: Miss Jean Thompson, floral crepe de chine; Miss Margaret Douglas, green chenille embossed georgette; Miss Ruth Todd, jade satin; Miss Joan Wigg, ecru lace; Miss Ethel Hardley, rose and black flowered ninon; Miss Dorrie Jenkins, floral georgette; Miss Emma Lamb, powder blue georgette and lace.
