PRESBYTERIAN MEETING IN DUNEDIN CHURCH UNION DISCUSSED Press Association DUNEDIN’, Today. At the Presbyterian Assembly' this morning an overture was presented by the Hawke’s Bay Presbytery requesting that at ordination elders’ subscriptions to the Westminster Confession of Faith be not required. It was agreed to remit the question to the presbyteries for consideration and report at the next assembly. Standing committees for the year ivere appointed with the following change. 4 *: —Budget Committee, . located at Christchurch; Home Mission Committee, moved from Auckland to Wellington; Social Service Committee, removed from Wellington to Auckland. The McGlashan Fund for indigent gentlewomen is to be administered by a committee located in Wellington. A discussion took place on the question of Church Union, which came up by an overture from the Wellington Presbytery. It resulted in the Wellington Presbytery being appointed a committee on Church Union to ascertain the mind of the Church and report to the next Assembly and further that it be recommended to the Youth, Home and Theological Committees to approach corresponding committees in sister churches with a view tto co-oper-ation. ■
