EYES ON AUSTRALIA

ENGLISH AIRWOMAN’S FLIGHT PLANS FOREIGN SUPPORT REJECTED BONDON, Sunday. Miss Amy Johnson, aged 22, the first woman to qualify for the Air Ministry’s license for a ground engineer who proposes to make a solo flight to Australia, is at present endeavouring to find a British aircraft firm to sponsor the flight. Miss Johnson has already received offers from American and German firms, but she hopes for aid from a British firm, to enable her to make a start. If successful, she may return by air. She proposes to follow a different route from that taken by Mr. Bert Hinkler and Mr. F. C. Chichester.
