“BALMORAL” UNPOPULAR
MOUNT EDEN PROTESTS TRANSPORT BOARD CRITICISED "111-advised, hasty, and discourteous,” were the terms applied to the Auckland Transport Board’s action in placing the sign “Balmoral’* on Dominion Road third-section cars without consulting the local body in charge of the district, at last evenings meeting of the Mount Eden Borough CounThe statement was made by Mi. W. ■JI. Nagle, who said he was surprised that residents had not protested. "I know of scores of persons who have let Balmoral cars go by and waited •or the old .sign,” he said. "The title •Sandringham' was not adopted until the Mount Albert Borough Council had discussed the Question and constituted Sandringham a district. We do not want to lose tile identity o* Dominion Road.” He moved that the board should be asked to include on the Balmoral sign the words “Dominion Road." It was finally decided that the action suggested by Mr. Nagle was urgent and should be carried out. Discussion of the limits or other recognition of the district was deferred to a later meeting-
