THEFT ADMITTED
SEAMAN REMANDED FOR SENTENCE mf TWO MEN INVOLVED Pleading guilty at the Police Court this morning to a charge of theft, Frederick George Lester was remanded until Monday. The remand was made at the request of Chief-Detective Hammond, who explained that there would be another man similarly charged who would come before the court on Monday also. Lester, a seaman, aged 23, was charged with stealing, at Wainui, or. February 4, a motor tyre, a rim ,two tubes and a case of petrol, valued at £6 10s, belonging to Frank Haddel Smith. Bail was allowed in one surety of £25. “The other man has been bailed,” added the chief-detective. “We have to obtain permission yet to have the case dealt with here.”
