TASMAN FLIGHT PROJECT
PARKERSON’S PLANS FOR SOLO HOP AUCKLANDER’S VENTURE LONDON, Friday. Mr. C. P. Parkerson, the Auckland airman, hopes to take off from Lympne at dawn on March 11. He plans to reach Rome on the first day. His machine is fitted with its maximum petrol capacity, sufficient for a range of 20 hours, with a view to a flight from Sydney to Auckland. Mr. Parkerson said he did not think so much of flying to Australia. The Sydney to Auckland flight was his real objective. His machine will carry such a quantity of petrol that there will be sufficient space left for only a few sandwiches, a tin of milk and a revolver.
