GANDHI’S WARNING
VOLUNTEERS READY TO MARCH ULTIMATUM TO VICEROY Reed. 9.5 a.m. DELHI, Thursday. Gandhi states that while he is ready to compromise with the Viceroy, unless a favourable reply to his ulti raatum is received by Tuesday, tile campaign of civil disobedience will commence. He will personally lead the first batch of volunteers consisting of men disciples from his settlement at Ahmedabad who will march to the sea coast. He refused to take women disciples saying it would be a cowardly action to place them in the forefront of the battle knowing that the Englishmen I would never harm them.
