WIRTH’S CIRCUS
OPENING ON MONDAY The. popular Wirth’s Circus is scheduled to make a return visit to Auckland next week, and will open its tents for the first performance on Monday evening next. Since this circus, advertised as “the biggest show on earth,” was last seen here, a number of additions have been made —in fact, most of the performers are making their first appearance in this part of the world, and Wirth Brothers have spared no expense to place their show on the high standard it is at present. There is also quite an army of clowns in several splendid acts, such as little Peter on his horse. The menagerie, in which there are several new and recently imported animals from all parts of the world, is in itself a liberal education, particularly for the children. The menagerie will be open from 4 to 5 p.m. daily, during which time the animals will be fed. The circus this year is under the personal direction of Messrs. Wirth Bros. Mr. Philip Wirth, jun., has taken up the mantle of his father, and holds the position as equestrian director, introducing the performing Ponies and horses trained by himself. As ringmaster and trainer, he is the youngest in the world, being under 20 years of age. LUNA PARK IS OPEN The Luna Park amusement area will be open again this evening when all the fun of the fair will be enjoyed. All the permanent attractions are in full working order and should be well patronised this evening by those seeking amusement and thrills. There are also a number of sideshows and other attractions and a very happy time should be spent. The Park will also be open tomorrow afternoon and evening.
