MANAWATU TROTS
NEXT WEEK'S FIXTURE TRACK IN FINE ORDER The caretaker of the Ashhurst racecourse has been devoting a good deal of attention to the track lately with the result it is in firstclass order for the forthcoming meeting. The Ashhurst course is an ideal one for trotting, and spectators are enabled to got splendid view of the racing all tho way, while the grass footing provided leaves nothing to bo desired. With a continuation of tho present tine weather, it promises to be faster than usual. Tho annual fixture of the Manawatu Trotting Club will bo held on the suburban track on Wednesday next and, with the attractive programme prepared for presentation, followers of the popular pastime are assured of an excellent .lav’s sport. Racing commences at 12 o’clock, and the last event is scheduled to start at 4.50. A special train will leave Palmerston North at 70 30 n.m. for Ashhurst, returning at 5.50 p.m. Acceptances for all events close this evening at 6 p.m. with secretary A. H. Manson, Palmerston North.
