GOLFER’S COMPLAINT
ATTACK ON FACILITIES IN QUARANTINE PROXIMITY TO ASIATICS United P.A. — Bp Tclcffi'aph—Copyright Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Mr. J. H. Kirkwood, the golfer, who is lamenting his detention in quarantine while his colleague. Mr. Walter Hagen, has been given his freedom, has again sent a complaint to the Press, declaring that he is disgusted with the bathing and toilet arrangements, being compelled to use the same facilities as Chinamen. Indians and Fijians. He could scarcely believe he was in a white man’s country. NARKUNDAS PATIENT Advice received from the Narkunda. en route to Fremantle, states that the smallpox patient was a second-class male passenger who. presumably, contracted the disease at Bombay, where it is raging. Swann, the passenger patient, is in a very serious condition, and there is little hope of his recovery. The vessel, before leaving for Australia, was placed in strict quarancine. The passengers were vaccinated and the ship disinfected.
