Mr. J. A. Ybung, M.P., arrived in Auckland by train yesterday. Sir George Klliot returned to Wellington by the Ulimaroa from Australia. Sir James Gunson, returned to Auckland from the South yesterday. Mr. F. W. Furkert, chief engineer to the Public Works Department, is staying at the Grand Hotel. The He”' E. A. Ransom, Minister of Public W* rks, and Mrs. Ransom, are at the Grand Hotel. Mr. V. T. M. Kissel, chief electrical engineer for New Zealand, is at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. M. Singleton, director of the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture, arrived by the first express from Wellington today. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Deader of the Opposition, who was in Auckland yesterday, left for Wellington last evening. He is accompanied by Mrs. Coates. Mr. Christopher Smith, conductor of the Auckland Municipal Band, returned yesterday from Dunedin, where he acted as judge at the Dominion’s band eonteet. Captain J. Foster, of Wellington, marine superintendent of the Union Company, accompanied by Mrs. Foster, in spending a holiday in Auckland. They are staying at the Hotel Cargon. During the absence from Auckland of Mr. justice Herdman and Mr. Justice Smith, attending the Court of Appeal, commencing in Wellington next week.
