WILL ATTACK RECORDS
AUSTRALIAN BROADSIDERS Lap and mile records will be attacked at the Western Springs Stadium on Saturday night when the two fastest riders who have ever appeared in Auckland will again compete. They are Frank Pearce, present holder of both records at Western Springs, and Charlie Spinks, holder of the ISTew Zealand mile record. The former held the Wellington mile record of lm IS 4-5 s until Saturday last, when Spinks covered the distance in one second less. These times give an impression of- the fast speeds both these champion broadsiders reach on the cinder track. These Australians will ride against the Auckland speedsters, who have improved considerably since either of the visitors was here before. Mattson i especially should prove a worthy i rival.
