BIG FISH AT RUSSELL

SHARK FOUL-HOOKED From Our Own Correspondent RUSSELL, Tuesday. Colonel E. Turton, of England, while fishing from the launch Lorna Doone, foul-hooked a hammerhead shark of 2691 b. He had to play it for an hour and a-half before it. was brought alongside. During the fight the rod broke, but the angler succeeded in landing the fish. Mr. R. D. Watson, of England, caught a sworfish of 2391 b when fishing from the launch Zane Grey. Off Cape Brett Mr. C. Alma Baker caught a sworfish of 3421 b, which gave a fine, exhibition fbr an hour. Mr. Baker is fishing from the launch Reliance. Mr. V. E. Masters, Auckland, caught a mako of 1111 b, fishing from the launch Marlin. Mr. Leander McCormick, in the launch Alma G., caught a sword-fish of 2141 b, and Mr. G. A. Burge, in the launch Zane Grey, landed two swordfish weighing 3081 b and 2151 b, respectively.
