Sir Thomas Sidey stated today that the Government had now decided to confii*m the restrictions imposed by tile Arms Act with respect to all fireworks. In future fireworks may only be sold subject to permits issued by the police. The practical effect of this decision is that fireworks may not be purchased by children, and even adults will be required to satisfy the police that the displays will be given only in suitable places with adequate precautions to prevent accident.
