MANY CHILDREN HELPED
TRUST BOARD’S WORK ASSISTANCE AT SCHOOL During last year 3S children received assistance in secondary or technical education from the 7 Costley Training Institution Trust Board, according to the annual report, which has just been presented. Thirty of the children were boys. Seven of the nine who sat for the matriculation examination were successful. One hopes to enter the ministry, three architecture or engineering, another civil engineering and the other two the teaching profession. The remainder of the children were in their first or second year. The fund earned £1,527 10s in interest, but payments on behalf of the children amounted to £1,589 3s lid and trust expenses of £BB 11s 2d resulted in a debit balance of £l5O os Id being brought forward. Most of the success is due to the keen interest being taken by the Child Welfare Officer of the Education Department, Mr. J. S. Cupit, and personally by the various trustees'.
