TENNIS TRADE TROPHIES
(From Our Resident Reporter) . WELLINGTON, Today. It is probable that a motion will be submitted to the next meeting of the council of the New Zealand Tennis Association asking that the council shall immediately give a ruling in regard to the acceptance of cups and other trophies a.s gifts from commercial firms. This is a subject that has created considerable feeling in tennis circles for some time, and there are indications that the motion will not be allowed to pass without considerable opposition. The chief idea, of course, is to try and prevent the donation of trade trophies, but this will be very hard to stop a« many clubs find a judicious gift of very valuable assistance to thenfunds, which are usually in a state of flux.
