AT MOTUKARARA
BANKS PENINSULA’S BILL OF FARE A BRIEF REVIEW The summer fixture of the Banks Peninsula Racing Club is to be held at Motukarara tomorrow. Fields throughout are quite good. The following will be well supported: Juvenile Stakes.— Spoon, Tray Bond, and Ozone. Tarawera High-weight.— Gay Crest, Ravine, and PHastar. Waiwera Trot.— Pro Rata and Some G uy. Peninsula Cup.— Jaieux, Master Clarence, and Rapier. Ahuriri Hack. — Tuku, Straightcourse, and Lord Thomond. Kinloch Handicap. —Silver Coot, Arrowmir, and Master Clarence. Flying Hack.— Ravine, Ranelagh, and Lord Thomond. Waihora Park Trot.— Flying Prince and Teremoa. in connection with the Juvenile Stakes, it should be noted that this is for non-winners at the time of nomination, hence last week’s Riccarton winner, Spoon, is eligible. Lord Thomond, a maiden performer, put up a sensational half-mile gallop at Riccarton yesterday morning, when ho registered 46 4-5 for that distance. Several watches timed the gelding, so that no mistake was made, and he merely needs to reproduce this phenomenal track trial to run away from liis rivals at Motukarara on Saturday. It was one of the fastest exhibitions of speed ever witnessed at Riccarton during training operations, and evidently he is a first-class sprinter in the making.
Qthers who performed well yesterday at Riccarton were Count Cavour (.not engaged tomorrow), Tray Bond, Tariff and Ravine. Tray Bond easily accounted for Spoon, who is believed to be next to a certainty for the Juvenile Stakes. The acceptances are as folow: JQ JUVENILE STAKES of £IOO.
