PRESENTATION TO PAST PRESIDENT Expressing pleasure on behalf of the visitors at the way in which they had been entertained in Auckland, Mr. E. Walpole, newly-elected president of the New Zealand Builders’ Federation, made k presentation to Mr. R. A. Cornish, past-president, at a complimentary dinner held last evening. The dinner, which was well attended, was given by the Auckland Builders’ Association to the New Zealand Builders’ and Contractors’ Federation. Toasts were honoured to the visiting delegates. the local bodies, the New Zealand Federation, the architects and the merchants. Replies to the toast of the visiting delegates were made by Mr. W. P. Glue, Canterbury; Mr. W. Ellis, Otago; Mr. W. I. Clark. Wellington, and Mr. W. L. Thompson. Taranaki. ELECTION OF OFFICERS When the conference held its final sitting yesterday the following officers were elected: —President, Mr. E. Walpole (Wanganui); vice-president, Mr. N. Cole (Auckland) ; executive, Messrs. W. Parkin, IT. Mainland, W. Mill and W. I. Clark (Wellington); hen. auditors, Messrs. J. C. Brown and J. D. Dick (Wellington); trustees, Messrs. W. Parkin and W. Mill; employers’ representative on the advisory board of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, Mr. IT- Mainland. The newly-elected president, Mr. E. Walpole, Wanganui, was in the chair and the day was spent in the discussion of trade questions. It was decided to hold the next conference at Invercargill-
