Duleepsinhji took two brilliant catches in the slips, the spectators being amazed at the deft manner in which he snapped up the ball. The first M.C.C. wicket fell at 32, Bowley being run out by a brilliant throw ip by Young. Duleepsinhji received a. great ovation. He survived a confident appeal for lbw on the first ball and lifted a ball to mirl-on when he had only scored two. After three wickets had fallen for 47, Turnbull and Nichols took the total past the century, the former playing a confident but steady innings. He frequently found the gully by perfect timing to off balls. At 103 Barker clean bowled Nichols. Gilligan helped Turnbull to carry the score to 154, when he fell lbw.
