TON OF BIG FISH
GOOD HAULS AT WHANGAROA From, Our Own Correspondent WHANGAROA, Wednesday. More than a ton of big-game fish was caught off Whangaroa yesterday. Mr. Sydney Irving, who caught the first sword-fish at Russell years ago, said that it was the best day for the sport he had seen. Following is a list of the anglers, the launches they fished from, and the fish caught: Mr. G. Burge, Zane Grey, striped marlin. Mr. F. Seccombe, Dione, striped marlin. Mr. H. C. Seccombe, Dione. hammerhead shark. Dr. J. A. Watson, Ethel, mako shark. Captain Roe, Ethel, two-striped marlin. Mr. Hunter, Hazel, mako shark. Mr. S. Ellis, Reelemin, striped marlin and one mako shark. Mr. L. Patrick, Dione, mako shark. Two other mako sharks were also caught from the Hazel.
