FRENCH GOVERNMENT RESIGNS OPPOSITION IN CHAMBER Reed. 1 p.m. PARIS, Tuesday. The Government has been defeated and is resigning. Before the result was known the odds on the success of M. Camille Chautemps were severely shortened because of the Tardieuites’ decision to oppose him solidly. M. Chautemps said the Republicans would give him a majority, but lobbyists predicted that he would secure only 270 votes against 300 of the opposition.
