“DRAG OF THE FAMILY”

NEW PICTURE FOR MAJESTIC A carelesslj’ laid hairpin causes more divorces than infidelity. This thesis is treated intimately in “Drag of the Family,” the new Richard Barthelmess starring vehicle, produced by First National-Vitaphone coming to the Majestic Theatre on Friday. Before marriage the bride made herself attractive, and exhibited only her charming side. After marriage she became careless in her person and her home. She developed irritability and a lack of sympathy with her husband’s ambitions. Slowly, but certainly, little drops of carelessness corroded the foundation of love and disaster followed. “Drag" is a story of a young newspaperman who comes to a small town, meets a girl, marries her, finds that he has married the whole family, and finally breaks away to freedom and happiness. Frank Lloyd directed it from the novel by William Dudley Pelley. Lila Lee and Alice Day are the leading ladies. Important parts are enacted by Tom Dugan. Margaret Fielding, Lucien Littlefield, Katherine Ward and others. Mary Nolan, who has just completed her first Universal starring picture, “Shanghai Lady," is preparing for an- | other characterisation created for her | by Winifred Eaton Reeve, author of | nineteen novels dealing with Japanese ! and American characters. The title i is “Barbary Coast."
