BUTTER AND LAMB STOLEN
WA7ERSIDERS’ THEFTS Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Three men were charged yesterday in the Magistrate’s Court with stealing lamb and butter from the New Zealand Shipping Company’s vessel Rangitane. They were seen leaving the ship with something hidden under their coats, by a detective-sergeant and a constable. / The men were Albert Edwards, aged Go, who admitted stealing two legs of lamb and 31b of butter, yalued at 15s: Henry William Burroughs, aged 40, who pleaded guilty to the theft of two legs of lamb and Sib of butter, valued at £ 1 6s; and Yictor Tolcher, aged 41. who admitted stealing one leg'" of lamb and 81b of butter, valued at £i Is. Mr. E. Page. S.M., fined each of them in default one month's imprisonment. A fortnight was allowed each in which to find the money.
