W.C.T.U. MEETING
PONSONBY BRANCH’S WORK The Ponsonby branch of the AVomen’s Christian Temperance Union held its usual fortnightly meeting in St. Stephen’s Hall on Thursday afternoon. Miss Read presided. A strong resolution, protesting against sports being held in the Rotorua Government grounds on Sunday, Nvas unanimously passed by the meeting. Being “Frances Willard Day.” a paper on her life and work was read, also showing how the work of the "W.C.T.U. had grown since it was founded by Frances Willard.
