MOTOR-CYCLISTS HURT

COLLISION WITH MOTOR-CAR

A collision between his motor-cycle and a motor-car on the Great North Road at about 6 p.m. on Saturday resulted in Mr. J. C. Meeke, of Western Springs, Road, Morningside, and a pil-lion-rider on his machine, Mr. C. J. Larsen, of Cardigan Street, Point Chevalier, being admitted to the Public Hospital. Mr. Meeke was suffering from injuries to his head, and his companion from injuries to his head and a fractured collarbone. The condition of both this morning is reported to be satisfactory. Mr. T. W. Hill, of Keppel Street, Arch Hill, who saw the accident, said that the motor-cycle was travelling on the Great North Road toward Surrey Crescent when the motor-car emerged from a side street. Evidently believing the car intended to cross the main road, the motor-cyclist bore in toward the left-hand side, only to crash into the rear of the car.
