FUTURITY STAKES ADDED TO BRILLIANT RECORD LAST DAY AT CAULFIELD United P. A.—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, Sunday. The Victoria Afhateur Turf Club’s meeting was concluded at Caulfield yesterday, when there was a large attendance. The feature of the day was the brilliant victory registered by Amounis in the Caulfield Futurity Stakes. The veteran had to win his race under the maximum penalty of 201 b, and the brilliancy of his feat cannot be gainsaid. On coming back to the enclosure the winner received an enthusiastic ovation. The following are the details of the racing: ST. CLAIR TRIAL Of £600; special weights; 9 fur. PENDENNIS, 8.4, H. Morris 1 PAQUIN, 6.11, Percival 2 UNIQUE, 7.11, A. Reed 3 Ten started. Won by two lengths. Time, 1.55&. ALMA STAKES Of £1,000; for two-year-olds; 6 fur. First Division CALMOND, 7.0, A. Wilson 1 RIGADOON, 7.3, Percival 2 COMIC SONG, 9.2, Dempsey 3 Twelve started. Won by half a head. Time, 1.15. Second Division SIR FRANCIS, 7.2, Elliott 1 GOLDEN ARROW, 7.6, Percival .... 2 THE BLACK CROW, 7.11, Foster . . 3 Ten started. Won by a length. Time, 1.16. Dominant was first to show out, but he was soon displaced by Figure, who had a length and a-half advantage from Greenline and Dominant at the back of the course, with Amounis well back. At the half-mile post Figure increased her lead from Greenline to two lengths with First Arrow and Aloysia handy. The leaders remained thus to the distance. Then Greenline drew up to Figure, with First Arrow still prominent and Amounis coming rapidly. Near the post Greenline headed Figure, but Amounis, coming with a brilliant run, then headed Greenline, and drawing away won by a length. Greenline was a neck in front of Figure, with First Arrow fourth, after whom came Parkwood and Gallopade. Cosy Rug was last. Time, 1.27?. STANLEY PLATE Of £1,000; handicap, for three-year-olds; 1 mile. SPANISH GALLEON. 8.11, A. Reed 1 LIMBER UP, 9.2, Wilson 2 CRAGFORD, 5.2, Foster 3 Fourteen started. Won by a short head. Time, 1.415.
