PEDESTRIAN KILLED

STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT AT PARNELL Through being knocked down by a motor-car while attempting to cross Gittos Street, Parnell, on Saturday afternoon, Mr. David Ainslie, aged 56. of 3 Stratford Street, Parnell received fatal injuries. Mr. Ainslie, who was a storeman employed at Messrs. Bond and Bond’s warehouse, was returning from work shortly after 1 p.m. when the accident occurred. He was struck by a motorcar said to have been driven by Mr. ■William Mclntosh, which rounded the corner out of Beach Hoad. The injured man was picked up in an unconscious condition and removed to the Auckland Hospital, where he died at 10 p.m. without regaining consciousness. He leaves a widow and one child, aged 10. An inquest was opened this morning before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M.. when the body was identified. -It was adjourned sine die.
