HOUSEBREAKERS GAOLED

REFORMATIVE FOR YOUNG MEN Terms of two years’ reformative treatment each were imposed by Mr. Justice Herdman, in the Supreme Court today, on Anthony Howley, 20, and Archibald Robert Windsor, 23, who admitted breaking and entering stores at Hew Lynn. The pair had nothing to say and thev were not represented by counsel. His Honour said it was plain they had set out to break into establishments at New Lynn. He added that the probation officer described Howlev as a larrikin type. Winsor had been sentenced to two years’ detention at Napier in 1826. These offences could be dealt with only by imprisonment.
