HORE HORE TO SNOWPLANE Special to THE SUN DARGAVILLE, Today. The weather was very warm for the second day of the Dargaville Racing Club’s meeting, which was held today. The attendance was fair. The track had hardened up during the week-end and was in good order for fast times. Results: HORE HORE HANDICAP Of £6O; 7 furlongs 1— SNOWPLANE, 8.4 1 2 ROYAL DAY. 9.0 2 3 BONNIE DAY, 7.10 .. 3 All started. Won by a neck, with a length between second and third. Time, 1.31 2-5. The Ellerslie apprentice, A. Parsons is still in hospital, but his condition is not serious and he will be out in a day or two, unless complications develop. He lost several teeth and received mild spinal injuries. Royal Day (£223) and Snowplane (£297) carried most money in the opening event, the two others being negleqted, but the favourite, Snowplane, was at a line price. Royal Day was leading Bonnie Day and Snowplane at the back, and this was the order at the home turn. At the distance Snowplane came along and won handsomely by a neck from Royal Day, who was a neck ahead of Bonnie Day. OiVIANA HANDICAP Of £65; 6 fur. 2— OWAIRAKA 1 I—ARCHEEN 2 4 —MACROOM 3 All started. Won by three lengths, a length between second and third. Time, 1.16 2-5. Archeen £495 was backed as a certainty in the Omana Handicap, but he dwelt at the start'and was well beaten by Owairaka £213. The latter led cut from Illingar, Exalted, Macroom, Gay Cockade and Archeen. The last named was standing the field a good start at the end of a furlong. Owairaka led across the top and into the straight clear of Macroom, Archeen, Gay Cockade, Illingar and Exalted. The leader was not troubled to win by three lengths from Archeen, who paid a microscopic dividend. Macroom wasa length away and then came Gay Cockade, Exalted and Illingar. KIRIKOPUNI HIGH-WEIGHT HANDICAP Of £65; 1 mile 1 furlongs 1 — BRAMPTON, 12.0 1 4—ROYAL. DAY, 9.0 2 2 FIERY LAD, 9.7 3 Won by a length, a head between second and third. Time, 2.3 3-5. Brampton (£276) was preferred to Fiery Lad (£.258) in the High-weight, both being at splendid plices. Bizarro led out of the straight from Fiery Lad, Royal Ray, Turn and Brampton, and along the back Fiery Lad was clear, but on the home turn he was passed by Brampton and Royal Day. Turn followed and Fiery Lad and Brampton were together at the distance. Then the favourite asserted himself and won by a length from Royal Day, who finished strongly, a head in front of Fiery Lad, with Turn and Bizarro next.
