GIRL ATTACKED

MAORI FOUND UNCONSCIOUS MAN ON BICYCLE Special to THE SUN TE AROHA, Saturday. After being attacked by a man, a 15-year-old Maori was found in an unconscious condition on the Te Aroha-Paeroa road last evening. On recovering consciousness she was "treated for severe bruises. Subsequently she said she was walking toward Te Aroha at about 5 p.m., when a ipan dismounted from a bicycle near the bridge and, clapping his hands over her face, dragged her to a slight depression at the side of the road. Owing to the rough manner in which she was handled she was unable to call for help. She remembered being lifted to the bicycle, on which she was wheeled, but remembered nothing further of the incident until she recovered consciousness at her home. She was able to describe her assailant to her native stepparents.
