MILLIONAIRE SHOT
BLOODHOUNDS ON TRAIL OF ASSASSIN SENSATION IN GERMANY BERLIN, Thursday. A sensation has been caused throughout Germany by the assassination of Dr. Kramer, a millionaire mineowner, in the garden of his own house. The outrage resembles a similar attempt made more thau two and a-half years ago, and as before, the assassin escaped under cover of warkness. Even bloodhounds, which were immediately in action, were unable to pick up the scent. Dr. Kramer was walking in his garden, awaiting some dinner guests. He was seeking a parking place for the car of one of his friends, when the headlights allowed him to be silhouetted. Immediately a shot from behind a hedge rang out. Dr. Kramer collapsed, and was just able to whisper a message to his wife when he died. The police have still not determined whether the assassin was a dismissed employee, or a political antagonist, as Dr. Kramer was an eminent member of the German People’s Party. But the previous attempt suggests that a sensational society drama may be revealed.
