Mr. R. B, Arnott, Point Chevalier, has had the misfortune to lose several of his most valuable White Runners. In order jto select his teams for the Mount Albert laying test Mr. Arnott removed his ducks into two wired runs in which was a quantity of hemlock. The following morning, on going out to feed them, Mr. Arnott found six of the nine ducks selected

for tlie competition dead and a number of others unabie to walk. He immediately got into toiich with Mr. Wood, president of the A.P.K.A., and Mr. Jarrett, Government expert, when it was discovered on opening the ducks that death was due to hemlock poisoning.
