ANNUAL EWE FAIR

Press Association FEILDING, Friday. There was a large attendance of buyers at the annual ewe fair today, when 24,000 ewes were offered. The sale was very satisfactory throughout, and was marked by an optimistic tone. The older ewes offered were not in as good condition as last year, but the young sheep were up to the usual high standard, and bidding was keen throughout for all classes. Good mixed aged ewes brought 28s 6d to 30s 2d; four-tooth ewes, 27s Id to 29s 3d; good six-tooths, to 30s; straight lines of good four arid five-year-old ewes, 245; medium lines, 225; inferior, 18s to 20s; inferior two-tooths, 25s to 28s; medium, 30s; good, 31s to 365. The highest price of the sale was 43s 6d for "small pens.
