TE KUITI PROPOSAL From Our Otcn Correspondent TE KUITI, Todav A meeting of those interested in tin development of aviation in Te Kim was held on Wednesday evening Tht prime object of the meeting was discuss th© question of procuring ap aviation ground. , 1 ' ' T - Merton, who presided stated it was desirable that action be taken to deal with the matter of aviation. The first requirement was . landing-ground. Tho Te Kuiti Racinc Liub course was most suitable, and be had been assured by the club presides, Mr. H. Rothery, of his hearty Cooperation, in the matter. Correspondence from Mr. Douglas Mill was read. Mr. .Mill was wiUtag to come to Te Kuiti, provided hecouid get a paying passenger one way between To Kuiti and Auckland, and jvas assured of 30 or 40 passengers for short flights. The racecourse was suittable for Mr. Mills plan* but before asking other aviators to come, some improvements to the racecourse were necessary. Finance wss necessary, and his proposal was thu: on the day Mr. Mill came, an air pageant on a small scale might be the means of raising money, and at the same time getting the people of the district interested in the project. After discussion, it was decided u* asked Mr. Mill to come to Te Kuiti in his Moth plane and to make a small charge for admission to the racecourse.
It was also decided to make a charge of 25s for a seven-minute flight and for 15 minutes. During the evening Mr. A. C. Irvington, who has flown from Te Kuiti to Auckland with Mr. Mill, and who has recently returned from a tour of Britain and the Continent, showed some interesting photographs connected with commercial aviation which he had collected during his trip to Europe.
