“RIO RITA”
AT REGENT AND STRAND Continued success attends the presentation at both the Strand and the Regent Theatres of the spectacular musical feast, “Rio Rita.” The thousands of Aucklanders who have already seen “Rio Rita” can echo the opinions of the well-known Hollywood film writer, Louella Parsons, who said:—• “Saw ‘Rio Rita’ the other night being previewed—and what a picture! Here is one of the greatest spectacles the talking—or almost, one might say, the silent —screen has ever had. “Bebe Daniels simply looks lovely and sings divinely. John Boles is equally charming, and his voice dramatic and golden in tone. It is a most interesting and elaborate production and should put R.K.O. on top of the list. The public is going to . come again and again—the same public. I know it will feel that way, for I should like to see it more than once more. “Luther Reid is to be complimented on a great direction; Bebe a simply marvellous performance; and Boles—well, I’ve said what I think about him almost too often.”
