MOTOR-CYCLIST’S CLAIM

JURY FAILS TO AGREE After several hours’ deliberation, a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon, failed to agree in the claim for damages by a motor-cyclist, Alexander Bruce Black, against H. A, Bassett, a Papatoetoe milk vendor. The claim arose from a collision between the motor-cyclist and a motor-van driven by an employee of Bassett’s. The accident occurred at tho corner of Hillcrest and Station Roads on the morning of March 15 last. The motor-cyclist, whose leg was broken in the crash, claimed £935 damages. Mr. Justice Herdman adjourned the retrial of the action until next session.
