SCOTT’S BODYGUARD

TRAINING FOR SHARKEY FIGHT AMERICAN IN TOP FORM Reed. 9 a.m. MIAMI, Wednesday. Seven rounds of sparring with five different partners comprised the bulk of Phil Scott’s training in his session today. He weighed 2121 b. when the day’s work ended. Scott gave a “world championship” touch to the coming fight by announcing that he had retained‘“Wild Bill” Lyons as a bodyguard. Lyons served in this capacity to Dempsey. Ten desultory rounds of sparring, which were marred by a slippery ring, engaged the attention of Sharkey. There was little fire in the performance, in which Pierre Charles and Johnny Grosso contributed. The impression created was that Sharkey is already considered to be in top form, and would be content merely to idle along until February 27.
