CORNWELL CUP MEETING
AUCKLANDER PRESIDENT OF CONFERENCE DRAW FOR BOATS Press Association DUNEDIN. Today. The delegates and crews for the Cornwell Cup contests were accorded a civic reception yesterday. At the conference of delegates, Mr. W. Johnson. of Auckland, was elected president. A remit from Otago that all crews should wear approved life preservers was referred to the Takapuna Club. The Manukau delegate considered that life preservers would hamper the boys. It was decided to recommend to the Takapuna Club that tne aepth of rudders be increased by four inches and it was further recommended that the measurements of sails should be made definite, with no allowance for stretching, and that the width of cloth used in making sails should also be defined. It was decided to start the first race at 2.30 this afternoon. On the following days, when two races will be held, a start will be made at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The draw for boats resulted as folfows: ——AnjcklahcT, Suzette: Wellington, Colleen; Christchurch, Pauleen; Otago, Zita; Manukau.
