PRODUCTION CAPTIVATES AUCKLAND Large crowds continue to attend the performances in His Majesty’s Theatre of the delightful comedy. •’Lombardi. Ltd.” The production appears ‘for onlythree more nights, with the last matinee to be staged tomorrow afternoon. As Tito Lombardi, the Italian costumier, Mr. Leo Carrillo plays a brilliant part. There is sufficient scope for scintillating humour and Mr. Carrillo lias earned great popularity in New Zealand as the joyous Tito. The value of dramatic expression is well emphasised in the role of Tito. too. One moment the audience is delighted by some droll utterance and then it is sharing a profound sorrow with the emotional costumier. Tito finds inspiration in the gowns sold at Lombardi Ltd., and the audience finds the entertainment of his part truly entrancing. Gorgeous gowns and smart frockings—there is much to capture the feminine fancy in the comedy’s mannequin parades. Two accomplished performances are given by Miss Barbara Luddy and Miss Margaret Cullen Landis. There are other performers well known in Auckland Miss Natalie Moya, of "Young Woodlev.” Miss Rowena Ronald and Mr. Brandon Peters, who play excellent parts in "Lombardi, Ltd.”
Norma Talmadge is in Du Barry," David Belasco's play, first acted by Mrs Leslie Carter. This is Miss Talmadge's second all-talking picture, her first being "New York Nights,” soon tube exhibited.
