WORKERS’ BUS TICKETS
CONCESSION WANTED ON BUCKLAND RUN Workers’ concession tickets being used on other bus routes, the Mount Roskill Road Board asked the Auckland Transport Board this morning to extend the privilege to the Buckiand Road service. The Mount Roskill Board felt that the present ordinary concession ticket costing 5s 6d a week was hard on young workers and those with families. The manager. Mr. A. E. Ford, reported that workers’ tickets were available for use on the Onehunga trams and that if the concession were extended to the Buekland Road buses more buses would have to be put on during peak periods, at a loss to the board. On the motion of the acting-chair-man. Mr. G. Baildon, the board decided to inform the Mount Roskill Board that at present it could not recommend extension of the concession, but that the question could be considered after the close of the financial year.
