GREENS UNDER WATER

Practically all city and suburban bowling greens were flooded on Saturday and play, with the exception of one or two clubs, was at a standstill. A few games were played at Takapuna and Ponsonby, but all other clubs definitely pronounced games to be “off” early in the day. ROCKY NOOK The mixed tourney organised by the Rocky Nook Bowling Club bids fair to become popular. Entries are coming to hand well, and as invitations h'ave been extended to all the indoor bowling clubs a record muster is anticipated. The women will use indoor and men the ordinary bowls, the rinks being reduced in length. Five games of 30 minutes’ duration will be played, wins counting first and aggregate in the event of ties. Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners-up and afternoon tea and a good afternoon’s enjoyment provided. Play is scheduled to start at 1.30 p.m., and the nominations close on Wednesday, 19th at 5 p.m., to enable the preparing of the draw for partners. ROTORUA FINAL GAMES POSTPONED ROTORUA, Saturday. Owing to the heavy rainfall the committee of the Bowling Club this morning. in consultation with the skips concerned in the final games of the tournament, decided to adjourn the play-off until Monday morning. VETERAN BOWLERS PLAT AT DUNEDIN DUNEDIN, Sunday. The annua! gathering of elderly bowlers was held on the Dunedin Club's green yesterday when 20 rinks took part in the afternoon’s play. The combined ages of the players was 6,126 years, an average of 76.51 years a player. The oldest players taking part were Messrs. C. W. Fountain. Roslyn, and T.
