TROUBLE OVER CIRCUS
MAN FINED FOR FIGHTING
F ? r , fighring in the ma in street of Otahuhu on December 14, Cecil Shaw was fined £3 and ordered to pay 28s costs at the Otahuhu Magistrate’s Court by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., this morning. A similar charge against William George Webb was dismissed Sergeant Rowell said that for some months there had been a dispute regarding property belonging to Webb’s circus. Webb maintained that some of the horses were his and he had been following the circus round for some time. ■ The present trouble arose when the circus was moving from Papatoetoe to Otahuhu. Evidence was given by two witnesses that they saw the two men fighting, about 200yds away. They said Webb was not the aggressor, but proved a willing participant. Shaw attacked Webb with a strap.
