TRANSPORT ON SHORE

NEW LICENSING BODY

A new transport licensing organisation, No. 2 Licensing Authority, will hold its first meeting in the Chamber of Commerce tomorrow afternoon.

The Devonport Borough Council has acted as the authority for two years, but the position was changed under the Transport Department Act. 1929, passed at last session of Parliament. In the authority, Devonport Council has two representatives, Takapuna Borough Council two, Birkenhead Council, Northcote Council and Waitemata County Council one each. Messrs. E. Aldridge, J. W. Williamson, J. Hislop, C. .T. W- Taylor, G. O’Halloran. B. C. Hart, and FI. A. Campbell are the members.

At the first meeting, officers will be elected and administration arrangements will be made.
