CANNOT MAKE TOUR

AUSTRALIAN OFFER REFUSED BRIDSON’S DECISION The Auckland and New Zealand swimming champion, Gordon Bridson, of Grammar Club, has decided that it is impracticable for him to accept the invitation to tour Australia, received on Saturday from the Australian Swimming Union. Bridson’s decision was communicated to the secretary of the Auckland Swimming Centre, Mr. H. Moore, who made the announcement this morning. The advice will be sent to the New Zealand Swimming Council at Christchurch and then to the Australian Union. The Aucklander has found that the tour requested, from six to eight weeks, is too long and strenuous, and business reasons also present an obstacle. He will, hdwever, be prepared to travel to Australia next season.
