“THE VERY IDEA”
AT MAJESTIC ON FRIDAY Th® new talking picture at the .Majestic Theatre next week will be a particularly merry farce-comedy deal-wl-h a eugenic theme, and entitled “The Very Idea.” This new film from Radio Pictures Is an unusual one in every way and is interpreted by a strong cast of stage players, including Frank Craven, Allen Kearns and Sally Blane. Craven is seen as an author who has written a book on how to uplift the human race from the rut through the application of eugenics. He proceeds with a plan to provide his brother and sister-in-law with a child they hope will be nothing short of a prodigy. To do this the author decides to hire parents, each of them shall measure up to specification. He finds them in Hugh Trevor and Sally Blane, and luck is with him when he finds they intend marrying, anyhow. However, when the childless pair have gone away for a year and return to claim their “bought” baby the real mother refuses to part with it. How they get out of the web of circumstances provides one of the most screamingly funny situations that has reached the screen in many months.
