MORRINSVILLE SWIMMING
NEXT CARNIVAL ARRANGED From Our Own Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Today. At a meeting of the committee of the Morrinsville Swimming Club it was decided to hold the next swimming carnival oil Thursday, March 13, the week after the South Auckland carnival, also to be held at Morrinsville. It was decided to continue the races for novices on club nights. In connection with these events, Mr. Chapman thought that business men and enthusiasts might donate small prizes. The club, which had never made a similar request, derived no revenue from club nights, and was putting on the events for the purpose of improving the young swimmers. It was decided to affiliate with the South Auckland Sub-Centre of the New Zealand Life-Saving Association. Results of this week’s events were: —Tiny Tots: Ford. 1: M. Ennis, 2. Girls; Miss E. McDavit. 1; Miss Irvine, 2; Miss I. Pryor, 3. Time, 26 4-ss. Men: F. E. Forster, 1: N. Bryant, 2. Time, 255. Boys: C. Osborne, 1; L. Jackson, 2. Time. 255. Girls’ Handicap: Miss E. McDavitt, 1; Miss B. Jackson. 2. Time, 255.
