In the absence of the Bishop of Waikato all confirmations in the Waikato this year are expected to be undertaken by Bishop Anderson, of Auckland, formerly of AustraliaThe drying-out process in connection with the third unit at Arapuni is nearly completed, and it Is expected that power will be drawn from the plant in the next few days. When the new unit is in operation the capacity of the Arapuni power station will be increased to 45,000 kilowatts. * # * The soaking rain which fell all ov«£ tho Waikato on Thursday evening and yesterday will benefit the'pastures considerably. Most farmers will start harrowing while the grass is still in seed, in readiness for a prolific growth of autumn grass. The rainfall recorded at Ruakura for 24 hours up to 9 a.myesterday was I.l7ins. An enjoyable time has been spent at the Ngaruawahia Training Camp by 200 boys of the Hamilton High School, who have been under canvas this week. Fortunately, the bulk of the training was over when the heavy rain cam* yesterday. A large number of visitor* were entertained at the camp on Thursday afternoon. Music was supplied by the school band.
