BODY IN SACK

SISTER PROVOKED TO KILL BROTHER

MOTHER ASSISTS IN CRIME COLOGNE, Tuesday. The murder of Johann Kirchner, whose dismembered body contained in a sack was found floating in the Rhine, has been traced to his sister, aged 23, and his widowed mother. Both women have confessed. Kirchner was a reprobate. He was sent to a reformatory, and when he was discharged he preyed upon his relations, and threatened to do them bodily harm. The man’s sister, wearied of his persecution, killed him with an axe while he was sleeping on January 30. She burned his head in the kitchen stove, and hacked his body to pieces. Assisted by her mother, the girl wheeled the remains in a perambulator to the riverside, and threw them into the water. A coat used to cover the perambulator was picked up. That, led to the discovery of the crime.
